Pregnancy and Reflexology

Pregnancy and Reflexology

Reflexology is generally considered safe in pregnancy and your reflexologist knows that you’re pregnant. However, some reflexologists will not treat a pregnant woman during the first trimester.

In Maternity Reflexology there is common to combine zone and point work with aspects of other therapies, for example using acupressure points from Chinese Medicine or Ajurveda`s foot massage routine, same time avoiding some reflexology zones.

Maternity Reflexology can be beneficial for expectant, laboring or newly delivered women and for their babies, both to treat a variety of conditions or to maintain wellness.

  •       Can be helpful to women who have morning sickness, nausea or heartburn
  •       Can provide relief from fluid retention and swelling
  •       Adjusting to the demands of coping with a new baby
  •       For calming disrupted sleep pattern, worries, confusing emotions
  •       Helps prepare for the labour, as it balances the hormones in the body
  •       During labour itself, it can be used for relaxation and pain relief
  •       After labor to balancing back to a non-pregnant state
  •       For the babies with colic or gases; for the babies who cry a lot after difficult birth process or without apparent reason

! Always remember to talk with your midwife thirst before having Reflexology, if you have serious or suddenly created health condition.
